Hilary Cope Artist and much much more
From an early age I have loved drawing and painting; I can see my bedroom walls, at age ten, covered in dinosaur drawings on wallpaper lining.
I experimented with oils and later water colour and completed a two year course with the Society of Botanical Artists but it wasn't until I discovered pastel about twenty years ago that I felt I had found my way. I love the fresh bright colours of this dry medium and find I can create some vibrant works. I just love it, its very tactile albeit a bit messey.
I love all the arts especially poetry and have recently consolidated my own poems into book form. I have been a volunteer at the People's Gallery for over ten years and I am now proud to be part of The Bridge, its a very friendly place and a great way to meet like minded people. Yes, I'm very proud of our gallery.
